50 WORDS FOR SNOW

Today’s Word: Powder

I have a friend who grew up in Chicago. She moved to California in the 70’s because in her words, “I never wanted to see snow again.”  Yet the mountains never seemed to stop their persistent beckoning and eventually she made her home here in Graeagle.  She explained her change of heart as this:

“I kept getting invitations to come up for a weekend skiing

in Tahoe.  Finally a friend convinced me and I somewhat

grudgingly accompanied him based on his assurance that

that this was something called “Spring Skiing”…yeah right.

That weekend I experienced snowfall in the Sierra and my first thought was: This isn’t snow! It’s something only Walt Disney could imagine. It’s like a dream of snow!”

This morning I realized what she meant.

Dream it.

Live it.
